We said goodbye to our campground, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Colorado today. We are really sad to be leaving, this is our kind of place with so much beauty and so much to explore. This is definitely a place on our list to come back to again!
Upon leaving we took off to Moab, UT to go explore Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. On the drive we passed the 2000 mile mark! We also took in stunning views of the Colorado mountain geography. We drove the scenic route through the mountains and were in awe. We then drove right by Breckenridge and Vail…all so beautiful. We stopped in Breckenridge to grab lunch at Whole Foods and pick up a few groceries. Although in hindsight that was a missed opportunity. Instead we definitely should have taken our lunch to a park and played with the kids 😞. We did stop in a small town (Rifle, CO) at a park/playground for dinner which was fun. It was a long day of driving and we didn’t get in to our new campground (Archview RV Resort and Campground) until really, really late. Not good for the kids or for us!
Love the blog! Hoping to get to Moab one year soon. Had to cancel last August due to the smoke from fires.
How did you’ll like Arches and Canyonlands Parks? Were they crowded?
We liked them both a lot. It’s so beautiful and unique out there! They’re very different from one another. It wasn’t very crowded at Arches and Canyonlands. (The crowded ones were Zion and Grand Canyon, and to some degree Bryce Canyon. Zion was like Disney World, a lot of people in a small space. Grand Canyon had a ton of people too but is a little bit better laid out.)
